Hello! I am Jordan McCann and this is my 10th year teaching! I began my teaching career teaching high school and have since, switched to middle school. Which is my FAVORITE!!! I currently teach 7th English/Language Arts and World History. This is my first year at Pioneer, but I LOVE it already! I have the most amazing, hardworking students that push me to be the best teacher I can be! I live with my husband and 2 step-daughters in Roseville. When I’m not teaching, you can find me at the gym, out and about shopping, or spending time with my family.

Mr. Rudd and his family

My name is Wayne Rudd and welcome to 7th grade math and life science.

A little about myself, I was born and raised in San Diego, California.  I grew up playing a multitude of sports and enjoying the coastal opportunities to fish.  After high school I moved to New Zealand where I lived with a Maori/Tongan family for six months.  While there, I fished, played rugby, and worked a whole bunch of crazy and interesting jobs.  After traveling, I went back to school and earned an associate’s degree.  I coached high school track and field at Helix High School in La Mesa, California for eight years and went back to school to complete my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.  In 2003, my wife and I moved to Sacramento.  I have been married for 12 years and my wife is a 4th grade teacher here at Pioneer.  We have a beautiful 4-year-old son named Garrett, a tabby cat, and a bull mastiff/boxer mix.

My educational philosophy is that every student has the ability to succeed when given a safe and positive learning environment.  That is priority in my classes and I continue to enforce those priorities through 4 simple rules:

1.       Be Respectful

2.       Be prepared

3.       Raise a Quiet Hand

4.       No Wandering

With that said, I am excited to teach your student and watch them grow as a person in both education and life.

Please note that you can track your child’s assignments and grades in real time by logging onto School Loop.   First, go to Pioneer’s website and click on the register portion.  Next, you will register as parent/guardian of your child.  You will then need your child’s id number and enter an email account.  Once you fill out the appropriate information, I will do the rest.

Please feel free to contact me through my email as I read them at least three times per day. Wayne.Rudd@twinriversusd.org

8th grade ELA and U.S. History teacher.

Don’t let the young face fool you, I am entering into my 7th year of teaching at Pioneer. When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my wife and son or acting in movies as Mark Wahlberg’s stunt double. As you have probably guessed by now, I like to bring humor into the classroom and do my best to make learning fun. My goal is to have every student make growth in ELA and learn some important moments in our country's great history. With your support, I know we will have an awesome year with lots of learning and lots of laughs. Cheers to another Swizztastic Adventure!

Ms. Voigt and her children

Hi, my name is Heather Voigt and I am the 8th grade math and science teacher here at Pioneer. I know this is going to be a great year for all of us to learn and grow. This is my 14th year teaching.  I have taught kindergarten, 5th grade, 6th grade, and 7th grade. I have also subbed at many other grade levels throughout the years. I have to say that teaching junior high students is just as rewarding as it is challenging. It is amazing what these students teach me day in and day out.

I have three children who keep me quite busy. I have a 9 year old son, a 6 year old daughter, and a 3 year old son. We are very active family. My children play sports and participate in many after-school activities. It is important for me to teach my kids how to balance school, family, and everything else that comes up in life. Keeping busy with activities helps instill a strong work ethic in and out of the classroom. I find this necessary to be be successful in life.

I look forward to working with you to make this school year a successful one. You can contact me through email at heather.voigt@twinriversusd.org, text me through the Remind app (enter this number "81010" and text this message "@f237h2"), or call the school office at 916.566.1940.

My name is Bill Reneau. This is my fifth year teaching 7th and 8th grade Physical Education at Pioneer.  I grew up in the Sacramento area and graduated from Foothill High School.  It’s an honor for me to be able to work with students from my hometown.  After high school I served four years in the Marine Corp with three tours of duty to the Middle East.  I am an easy going guy most of the time and I like to joke around with my colleagues and students.  I look forward to helping my students learn ways to incorporate physical education into their daily lives, My goal is for them each to find an activity they love this year!
